How ResQ Works?
How ResQ Works
ResQ is engineered to help you respond FAST during a choking emergency — even if you’ve never had medical training. With its simple Place → Push → Pull mechanism, ResQ creates a safe, powerful one-way suction that helps remove airway obstructions quickly.
1. Place the Mask Securely
Position the ResQ mask firmly over the person’s mouth and nose. A proper seal ensures targeted suction. The medical-grade silicone mask is designed to comfortably fit children, adults, and elderly individuals.
2. Push the Plunger Down
Hold the device firmly and fully push the plunger downward. This primes the suction system, eliminating the need for physical strength or complex rescue techniques.
3. Pull Up to Create Suction
Pull the plunger sharply upward in one quick motion. This creates strong, one-way suction that helps lift and remove the stuck object without forcing it deeper.
4. Check the Airway
Open the person’s mouth to check if the obstruction is cleared. If breathing hasn’t returned, repeat the steps Place → Push → Pull.
5. Seek Medical Evaluation
Even after successful removal, medical professionals should evaluate the person. Choking incidents may cause internal injury or swelling.
ResQ vs Traditional Choking Methods
While back blows and the Heimlich maneuver are important first responses, they may not always work. Here’s how ResQ compares:
| Method | Pros | Limitations |
|---|---|---|
| Back Blows | Quick and simple first response | Not always effective. Hard to perform on elderly, pregnant women, obese individuals, or small children. |
| Heimlich Maneuver | Effective when performed correctly | Risk of internal injury or broken ribs. Difficult to execute on children or pregnant individuals. Requires strength and training. |
| ResQ Anti-Choking Device | Easy for anyone to use. Effective when traditional methods fail. No strength needed. Safe for elderly, disabled, pregnant individuals, and children. | Should be used after or when unable to perform back blows/Heimlich. |
ResQ is not a replacement for emergency care — it is a powerful backup tool that helps you act quickly and confidently when every second counts.
